How We Do It
DOMUS has taken a long-term view of its business. Our experienced and technically knowledgeable team has critically examined the performance of various building solutions and chosen materials, technologies and delivery systems that consistently provide practical, dependable, attractive and cost-effective solutions to the unique challenges of building and living in the Caribbean. DOMUS products use materials that are capable of withstanding the harsh Caribbean climate including humidity, salt air, corrosion, intense sunlight, insects and the threat of hurricane - with little or no maintenance.

Having carefully chosen its products and the materials from which they are made, DOMUS employs state-of-the-art Computer Integrated Manufacturing systems and business processes to consistently deliver its products and services to its Caribbean clientele. We manufacture windows, doors and concrete piles in the Eastern Caribbean – in the markets we serve.

COMPANY PROFILE

DOMUS was founded to meet the need for quality building products in the Caribbean islands. We have our corporate head office in Antigua, with manufacturing and distribution operations in Antigua and St. Kitts.

DOMUS opened its state-of-the-art Computer Integrated Manufacturing operations in Antigua and St. Kitts in 2006. The management and staff of DOMUS are highly experienced in windows, doors, concrete piles, all aspects of the construction industry and resort management. A team of experienced, fully qualified engineers have detailed knowledge about how the Caribbean environment affects the chemistry and performance of building products.

In addition to its general strategy of providing products that can stand up to the harsh Caribbean climate, DOMUS has specifically focused great effort on dealing with two risk factors facing its Caribbean clientele, namely:

Hurricanes – We manufacture a complete line of hurricane resistant window and door products which meet the requirements of Miami-Dade County and/or ASTM E 1886 and ASTM E 1996 impact test protocols and standards. In addition to providing excellent hurricane protection performance, use of these products will typically allow property owners to receive up to a 40% discount on hurricane protection insurance premiums.

Security – Unfortunately, Caribbean homeowners appear to be facing increased threat from crime. To respond to this risk DOMUS has provided a range of products which provide excellent security protection while at the same time retaining aesthetic appeal and safety. Three glazing solutions prevent access by thieves while at the same time permitting homeowners to exit if required by emergency. All windows have a form of night-locks which prevent easy access by limiting opening sizes while at the same time permitting ventilation.

DOMUS has been growing quickly and is continuing to carry out product research and development on new products that can deliver superior performance. Watch for new product offerings that meet DOMUS’ stringent performance requirements.
